What Does a Paralegal Do?

  Legal Assistant

As a paralegal, you will research cases and gather information. This may happen through interviews or library research. You may also draft legal documents. You will file, retrieve and organize legal documents as well. Paralegals frequently perform a lot of photocopying and indexing.

You may work in courts, a private practice or find a government job. Freelance contract work is even a possibility.

With an associate's or bachelor's degree you may seek an entry-level position as a paralegal as you will meet the minimum requirements of most employers.
