Real Estate Paralegal

Real estate paralegals help with the buying and selling of properties. They often order title work, arrange for the closing, and draft the legal documents needed for the closing. Researching the title and administrative processes will also be a part of the job requirements.

  Paralegal in Office

As a real estate paralegal, you will need strong organizational skills as there are often many components that need to be set up before the closing can take place. You will have to meet these deadlines.

Paralegals in the real estate market may help residents and businesses buy and sell property. You may also be involved with land set up for environmental use.

If you're considering this field, you will want to be familiar with banking, contracts, and the laws governing rental properties. Like most paralegal specialities, real estate paralegals will usually earn more than those who have not specialized. In addition, the need for real estate paralegals is growing. This growth is likely due to the state of the economy (more foreclosures) and more interest in the buying and selling of property as a means for building wealth.
